Infrastructure Specialist - Cloud Platforms

Role Overview IBM is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Specialist to manage and implement cloud infrastructure solutions across multiple cloud environments. The role demands a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and security while working in close collaboration with cross-functional IT teams. You will play a key part in designing and executing infrastructure solutions that align with organisational goals and industry standards. Key Responsibilities - Set up, configure, and manage virtual machines, storage solutions, networking components, and databases across diverse cloud platforms to support critical business applications - Implement and oversee cloud resources including Virtual Private Clouds, Load Balancers, and Cloud Storage solutions to ensure seamless day-to-day operations - Continuously monitor cloud infrastructure, troubleshoot performance issues, and maintain high availability and disaster recovery configurations - Apply and enforce security measures to ensure cloud infrastructure remains compliant with organisational policies and applicable industry regulations - Optimise cloud spending by right-sizing resources, identifying cost-effective alternatives, and tracking usage patterns to reduce unnecessary expenditure - Manage Kubernetes clusters across various cloud environments to support effective container orchestration and workload scaling - Leverage automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible to streamline infrastructure provisioning and operational workflows Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's degree preferred) - 7 to 9 years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms including Oracle Cloud, Nutanix Cloud, and Alibaba Cloud - Proficiency in Linux and VMware environments along with strong knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD practices - Demonstrated experience with cloud migration projects from planning through successful execution Why Join Us IBM is a globally recognised technology leader that offers professionals the opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud infrastructure at enterprise scale. - 7 to 9 years of experience in cloud infrastructure and system administration - Hands-on exposure to Oracle Cloud, Nutanix Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, or similar platforms - Strong expertise in Linux and VMware environments - Experience with automation tools including Terraform and Ansible - Proficiency in Kubernetes cluster management and container orchestration - Experience executing cloud migration projects end to end - Knowledge of DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines - Familiarity with cloud security best practices and compliance requirements - Experience with cloud cost optimisation techniques such as resource right-sizing - Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
