Crypto Firmware Developer

Role Overview IBM is looking for a skilled Crypto Firmware Developer to join its IBM Z team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and delivering high-quality firmware components using the latest technologies. You will work in a collaborative, globally distributed team environment and follow agile methodologies across the full development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities - Design and develop firmware components based on Functional Programming Specifications and high-level design documentation - Collaborate with designers and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into working firmware solutions - Debug reported issues and develop targeted code fixes with thorough unit testing - Deliver reliable solutions for defects identified by customers and contribute to projects involving hardware management console applications and I/O adapters - Actively participate in agile development cycles covering design, code review, unit testing, functional testing, simulation, and real hardware integration testing Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field - Hands-on experience in firmware development including design, development, and testing of firmware components - Familiarity with component-level design and architecture principles - Working knowledge of agile development practices and methodologies - Experience with debugging and unit testing to maintain high-quality code deliverables Why Join Us IBM offers a globally connected work environment where you will contribute to cutting-edge mainframe and cryptographic technology. - 1 to 5 years of experience in firmware development - Bachelor's degree in any discipline - Proficiency in functional programming and component-level design - Experience with agile methodologies including code review and unit testing - Debugging skills and ability to develop code fixes for reported issues - Exposure to cryptographic processors and secure coding practices is preferred - Familiarity with blockchain technology and secure service containers is a plus - Knowledge of server virtualisation and parallel sysplex environments is advantageous
