Hardware Engineer

Role Overview L&T Technology Services is seeking a skilled Hardware Engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience to join their Chennai team. This is a full-time opportunity for professionals with a strong background in fixed access product hardware design and end-to-end product delivery. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in ONT, Residential Gateway, and GPON/EPON technologies. Key Responsibilities - Design and develop Fixed Access Product hardware including ONT and Residential Gateway solutions - Work on digital circuit systems design with strong focus on OLT and ONT hardware - Handle Wi-Fi RF, antenna hardware design, testing, and product certification - Perform cost-optimised hardware design and strategic component selection - Conduct Root Cause Analysis for manufacturing and field-level hardware issues - Collaborate with external suppliers and ODM vendors to ensure quality delivery - Support product development across multiple SKUs with sound mechanical design understanding - Work closely with global cross-functional teams throughout the full hardware product lifecycle Required Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent - 3 to 5 years of experience in hardware design for fixed access products - Hands-on experience with GPON and EPON technologies - Familiarity with telecom standards such as ETSI, NESC, Telcordia, and E2E PBKS - Strong knowledge of Ethernet IP networking, optical transmission (PON), Wi-Fi RF, and POTS - Proficiency in circuit design tools including Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics, CST, HFSS, Flotherm XT, and PLD/FPGA tools - Experience in analog circuit design and power module development is an added advantage - Fluent in English with strong communication and problem-solving skills Why Join Us L&T Technology Services offers a dynamic work environment where engineers get to work on cutting-edge telecom hardware products with global impact.
