Area Technical Manager

Role Overview Indium Corporation, a globally recognized materials refiner, manufacturer, and supplier to the electronics, semiconductor, and thermal management industries, is seeking an experienced Area Technical Manager (ATM) to join their team in Chennai. This is a mid-senior level full-time opportunity for a technically driven professional who thrives in a customer-facing role and can deliver exceptional technical support across an assigned territory. The ATM will act as the primary technical bridge between the company and its customers, distributors, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities - Provide comprehensive technical support to sales activities and ensure high-quality technical service delivery within the assigned territory - Support customers with product and process recommendations, on-site evaluations, troubleshooting, and product qualification activities - Educate and train customers, distributors, and internal teams as a technical spokesperson for Indium Corporation - Collect and communicate customer feedback on technical requirements and market trends to support business development and continuous improvement - Identify, plan, and execute technical programs that drive innovative applications and expand existing and new technologies in line with company objectives - Collaborate closely with technical, manufacturing, engineering, R&D, sales, and marketing teams for successful program execution - Participate in technical strategic planning and support regional business and marketing initiatives - Prepare technical reports, presentations, blogs, and documentation of experimental findings - Build a strong professional network and promote Indium Corporation as an industry-leading technical authority - Travel within the region as required, with expected travel between 25% and 50% Required Qualifications - Minimum 5 years of experience in a process engineering role within a semiconductor or SMT environment - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field - Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in English - Strong knowledge of SPC, troubleshooting methodologies, and 8D reporting - Proven ability to manage customer relationships and work independently with minimal supervision - Willingness to travel frequently at short notice within the assigned region - Strong team player with demonstrated leadership skills and a positive, solution-oriented attitude Why Join Us Indium Corporation is a century-old global leader with a presence across nine countries, offering a dynamic and inclusive work environment where technical excellence and professional growth are genuinely valued.
