AR Caller Hospital Billing Specialist

Role Overview The AR Associate manages accounts receivable operations within hospital billing and revenue cycle management, handling claim resolution and denial management. You will review outstanding insurance balances, resolve payment issues, and coordinate with payers, patients, and clients. This role requires deep knowledge of standard operating procedures and the ability to communicate issues and process improvements to leadership. Key Responsibilities - Review outstanding insurance balances to identify and resolve claim payment issues while coordinating with payers, patients, and clients - Analyze denial trends and EOB data at claim level to recommend solutions for improving first pass denial rates and reducing AR aging - Ensure all workflow items are completed within set turnaround times while maintaining quality standards - Identify process improvement opportunities through data analysis and trend evaluation to reduce overall denial rates and improve dollar recovery - Comply with employment terms, company policies, HIPAA regulations, and adapt to changing business requirements including shift changes and work location assignments Required Qualifications - Graduate degree with 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in AR calling and hospital billing - Strong expertise in denial management within RCM and AR domain - Solid knowledge of medical insurance types including HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and private payers - Proficiency in MS Office software, particularly Excel and Outlook, with efficient typing skills Why Join Us Optum is an Employees' Choice company offering opportunities to work on critical healthcare revenue cycle operations. - 2 to 4 years AR calling and hospital billing experience - Denial management expertise in RCM and AR - Knowledge of HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and private payers - Physician and hospital billing experience mandatory - Strong US healthcare domain knowledge - Neutral American English accent and communication skills - Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and Outlook - HIPAA compliance and privacy law knowledge - Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities - Graduate degree
