Application Developer - Java & Web Technologies

Role Overview IBM is looking for a skilled Application Developer with strong Java and web technology expertise to join its software development team in Gurugram. In this role, you will be instrumental in helping clients accelerate their hybrid-cloud and AI transformation journeys by building robust, high-performing applications. You will collaborate closely with architects, technical leads, and stakeholders across the full software development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities - Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle including design, code implementation, testing, release management, and ongoing support - Analyze existing systems to identify failures and inefficiencies, and propose well-reasoned improvements in coordination with the architect and technical lead - Engage proactively with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver creative, innovative coding solutions - Develop and maintain applications that are highly available, responsive, and scalable on hybrid-cloud environments - Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolution to ensure excellent service delivery Required Qualifications - BE or B.Tech in any stream, or M.Sc. in Computer Science or IT, or MCA with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of software development experience - Strong hands-on knowledge of Java 8 or higher including multithreading, JVM internals, memory management, generics, and collections - Proven experience working with Spring Framework version 4 or above and Hibernate ORM - Solid understanding of OOP concepts, exception handling, file I/O, serialization, and Java keywords such as static, final, volatile, and synchronized - Working knowledge of JSP and Servlets for web application development Why Join Us IBM is one of the world's most respected technology companies, offering developers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI and cloud platforms at a global scale. - BE or B.Tech in any stream, or M.Sc. in Computer Science or IT, or MCA - 3 to 5 years of hands-on software development experience - Proficiency in Java 8 or higher - Experience with Spring Framework 4 or above and Hibernate ORM - Strong OOP concepts including abstract classes, interfaces, and constructors - Knowledge of exception handling, collections, generics, and Java serialization - Experience with JSP and Servlets - Familiarity with multithreading, synchronization, and JVM memory management - Preferred: Experience with build tools such as Maven, Ant, and Git - Preferred: Knowledge of design patterns and Spring modules including Spring Core, Spring ORM, Spring DAO, and Spring AOP
