Trainee - Assembly

Role Overview Rockwell Automation, a globally recognised technology leader in industrial automation and manufacturing solutions, is seeking a motivated Trainee for its Assembly division at its Kancheepuram facility in Tamil Nadu. This entry-level, shopfloor-based role is ideal for candidates with a diploma or degree in mechanical engineering who are eager to build a career in production and machine shop operations. The selected candidate will work under the guidance of a Production Supervisor or Assembly Manager and contribute to daily manufacturing targets while adhering to quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities - Assist in routine machine shop operations on a daily basis - Operate and support conventional machines including punching, powder coating, and drilling or tapping equipment - Learn and strictly follow standard operating procedures and workplace safety guidelines - Support production activities to achieve quality benchmarks and productivity goals - Assist in basic machine setup, dimensional measurement, and quality inspection tasks - Maintain a clean and organised work area in compliance with 5S and housekeeping standards - Work under supervision while continuously developing technical and operational skills Required Qualifications - Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or any graduate degree with willingness to work in machine shop operations - Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a shopfloor or production environment - Basic understanding of mechanical concepts and manufacturing processes - Willingness to work in shifts as required by production needs - Ability to quickly learn and adapt to machine shop processes - Good attitude, strong discipline, and effective teamwork skills - Prior exposure to automotive, electronics, electrical, heavy engineering, or manufacturing industries is an added advantage Why Join Us At Rockwell Automation, you will be part of a diverse and inclusive global workforce that is dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the world through innovative manufacturing solutions.
