Test Engineer L3 - Playwright Automation

Role Overview Wipro is looking for a skilled Test Engineer L3 to join its quality assurance team in Chennai. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing comprehensive test cases, executing testing activities, and ensuring that products, platforms, and solutions meet 100 percent quality assurance standards before client deployment. You will play a pivotal role in driving testing excellence using modern frameworks including Playwright and model-based testing approaches. Key Responsibilities - Understand business and testable requirements to design detailed test cases and test plans - Implement model-based testing as per Wipro's testing methodology to achieve efficient test generation - Conduct peer reviews of test cases to minimise rework and ensure high-quality outputs - Collaborate with development teams to capture test scenarios and define scope, criteria, and parameters for UAT - Design and execute automation frameworks using Playwright, VB macros, GUI automation, and scheduling tools - Develop test environments, create test scenarios and usage cases, and execute them systematically - Raise defect reports with clear descriptions and replication patterns in line with project norms - Publish test status dashboards at the end of every test execution cycle for stakeholders - Ensure on-time delivery of WSRs, test execution reports, and dashboard updates in the test management repository - Maintain accurate effort tracking in eCube, TMS, and other project trackers - Provide timely feedback on usability and serviceability and report quality risks to relevant stakeholders Required Qualifications - 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in software testing and quality assurance - Mandatory proficiency in Playwright for test automation - Strong knowledge of test planning, test case design, and defect lifecycle management - Experience with automation using VB macros and GUI automation tools - Familiarity with model-based testing concepts and UAT processes - Good understanding of SLA compliance, CSAT metrics, and on-time delivery standards - Excellent communication skills for client interactions via email, reports, and voice calls Why Join Us Wipro is an end-to-end digital transformation partner with a culture built around continuous reinvention and bold ambition.
