Java API Developer - RESTful Web Services and Microservices

Role Overview Wipro is looking for an experienced Java API Developer with strong expertise in RESTful Web Services, Spring Boot, and cloud-native technologies to join its growing engineering team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will support process delivery, handle technical escalations, and drive capability development within the production team. Key Responsibilities - Oversee daily production operations by reviewing transaction performance dashboards and ensuring SLA compliance - Handle and resolve technical escalations through structured diagnosis and troubleshooting of client issues - Provide step-by-step technical support to clients in a professional and user-friendly manner - Track, document, and analyse client queries and call logs to identify recurring trends and prevent future issues - Mentor and guide Production Specialists to strengthen their technical knowledge and process understanding - Design and deliver internal training sessions (triages) to address skill gaps within the team - Ensure all service interactions comply with contractual agreements and quality standards - Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployments using Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS services - Monitor system health using observability tools such as Cloudwatch, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry Required Qualifications - 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in Java development with Spring Boot and RESTful API design - Proficiency in cloud-native solutions using AWS services including EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda, VPC, Route53, IAM, and Secrets Manager - Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes - Familiarity with messaging and streaming platforms like Kafka and workflow engines like Camunda - Working knowledge of databases including Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB - Exposure to gRPC, API Gateway design, and microservices architecture - Experience with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines using GitLab - Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to varied audiences Why Join Us Wipro offers a purpose-driven work environment where professionals are encouraged to reinvent themselves and grow alongside a globally recognised digital transformation leader.
