Systems and UX Engineer

We are looking for a talented Systems and UX Engineer to join our Chennai team, someone who blends solid backend engineering skills with a sharp eye for user experience to build fast, reliable, and intuitive applications from end to end. Key Responsibilities - Design and build user-facing applications and internal tools with a focus on clarity, usability, and responsive design - Develop scalable backend services and RESTful APIs that power production-grade application experiences - Build modern, accessible UI components using established design patterns and UX best practices - Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to refine user journeys, information architecture, and interaction flows - Implement performance-oriented front-end techniques including rendering efficiency, caching, and lazy loading - Optimise end-to-end performance across client, API, and backend systems and improve p95 latency - Set up observability solutions including logs, metrics, and traces for critical user journeys - Integrate with enterprise services such as authentication, authorisation, data services, and workflow systems - Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and production readiness practices - Document system behaviour, UX guidelines, engineering standards, and reusable component libraries Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related discipline with 5 or more years of relevant experience; OR a Master's or PhD with 3 or more years of relevant experience - Proven experience building production-grade web applications covering both front-end and backend development - Proficiency with modern web technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, and React or comparable frameworks - Hands-on backend development experience using Python, Node.js, Java, or similar languages - Solid understanding of UX principles, accessibility standards, and responsive design - Experience with performance optimisation, monitoring, and debugging in distributed systems - Familiarity with CI/CD workflows, Git-based version control, and software engineering best practices - Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams Why Join Us At KLA, you will work alongside world-class engineers and problem-solvers tackling some of the most challenging problems in semiconductor technology.
