Software Engineer - ETL and Data Integration

Role Overview BNP Paribas India Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Europe's leading bank, is looking for a Software Engineer to join its Chennai delivery center. This role sits within the Investment and Asset and Fund Services business line and focuses on owning critical data transformation and integration processes for the HiPort middle office platform. The ideal candidate brings strong Abinitio expertise and can quickly adapt to a fast-paced global banking environment. Key Responsibilities - Analyse and estimate incoming technical requirements and translate them into actionable development plans - Write detailed technical analysis documents covering both functional and technical impacts - Design and develop high-quality ETL code following established best practices - Perform unit testing and provide implementation support for releases - Carry out bug fixing and performance optimisation across ETL jobs and batch processes - Design ETL frameworks for audit, data reconciliation, and real-time or batch interface management - Develop automation and monitoring jobs with a focus on performance tuning - Support the Service Delivery team in resolving production issues - Establish and share best practices within the application development and broader MBIM teams Required Qualifications - Solid experience as an RDBMS developer with strong skills in stored procedures, query performance tuning, and ETL - Hands-on experience with Abinitio or equivalent ETL development tools - Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines - Working knowledge of Git for version control - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills - Ability to collaborate effectively across global teams - Master's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline Why Join Us BNP Paribas India Solutions offers a diverse and inclusive work environment where over 10,000 professionals deliver world-class solutions across a 24x7 global delivery model.
