Software Engineer - AI/ML

Role Overview KLA is a global semiconductor technology leader powering virtually every electronic device manufactured worldwide. We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer specialising in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Science to join our Chennai-based IT team. In this role, you will design and deliver intelligent, production-grade AI solutions that accelerate business transformation and support KLA's mission of continuous technological innovation. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and AI algorithms to solve complex business challenges, covering data preprocessing, model training, validation, and production rollout - Architect scalable systems capable of managing large data volumes and demanding AI/ML workloads while maintaining high performance and reliability - Build robust, maintainable, and production-ready AI/ML solutions with due attention to security, compliance, and operational efficiency - Stay current with the latest advancements in AI, ML, and data science, and conduct applied research to continuously improve existing solutions - Collaborate closely with data engineers, product managers, software developers, and business stakeholders to integrate advanced AI capabilities into products and services - Oversee the deployment and post-production monitoring of AI/ML models, iterating on performance as required - Document methodologies, findings, and processes, and contribute to knowledge sharing through internal workshops and presentations Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline; Master's or PhD is preferred - Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in AI/ML with a proven track record of deploying solutions in production environments - Strong proficiency in Python or equivalent languages, with working knowledge of libraries such as TensorFlow and Scikit-learn - Practical experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) is essential - Solid foundation in statistics, machine learning algorithms, deep learning, neural networks, and system architecture - Good understanding of cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and data processing technologies - Familiarity with software engineering best practices including Git, CI/CD pipelines, agile methodologies, and system design patterns - Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders Why Join Us At KLA, you will work alongside world-class engineers and data scientists on problems that genuinely shape the future of technology.
