Software Engineer

Role Overview KLA is a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing technology, and its Information Technology group plays a central role in driving business growth by connecting people, processes, and technology across the organisation. As a Software Engineer in the AI-enabled applications space, you will contribute to building and supporting software systems that power AI-driven features and services. You will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional AI, ML, data, and product teams to deliver reliable, production-quality software under established guidance and architectural standards. Key Responsibilities - Develop and maintain backend components and services that integrate AI and ML capabilities into production applications - Support AI inference workflows by connecting applications to model endpoints, external APIs, and AI services - Apply application logic around AI outputs including validation, formatting, confidence handling, and error management - Build well-scoped features using existing frameworks, coding standards, and architectural patterns - Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code and actively participate in code reviews - Follow CI/CD processes to build, test, and deploy software changes in a structured development environment - Add logging and basic observability metrics to assist with monitoring and troubleshooting - Assist in debugging and resolving issues across development and lower environments with senior guidance Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience - 3 to 5 years of professional software development experience or strong internship and project-based experience - Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, C#, or Go - Solid understanding of APIs, backend development principles, and database fundamentals - Familiarity with version control using Git and standard development workflows - Exposure to AI or ML concepts such as model inference, LLM-powered features, or basic RAG workflows is a plus - Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP and knowledge of Docker or CI/CD pipelines is advantageous Why Join Us KLA invests over 15 percent of its annual revenue into research and development, making it one of the most innovation-driven organisations in the semiconductor industry. - Proficiency in Python, C#, or Go - 3 to 5 years of software development experience - Strong understanding of REST APIs and backend service integration - Knowledge of data structures, debugging, and unit testing - Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows - Familiarity with databases and backend development fundamentals - Exposure to AI or ML concepts such as model inference or LLM APIs is preferred - Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP - Understanding of containerisation using Docker is a plus
