Shift Engineer (B & C License)

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity suited for professionals with hands-on experience in hospital utility systems, electrical infrastructure, and medical gas pipeline operations. The role demands a proactive individual capable of ensuring zero-downtime facility management in a critical healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities The Shift Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the continuous, safe operation of high-voltage electrical panels, diesel generator sets, UPS systems, and chiller plants across the facility. The role involves strict air-quality management for sensitive areas including ICUs and Operation Theatres, along with overseeing the safe and compliant distribution of medical gases throughout the hospital. The engineer will execute daily preventive maintenance schedules, maintain detailed equipment logs, and proactively identify potential failure points before they escalate. During breakdowns or infrastructure emergencies, the Shift Engineer is expected to lead the on-duty maintenance team in rapid diagnosis and resolution. Maintaining compliance with local fire safety regulations and national healthcare accreditation standards such as NABH and ISO is a core part of the role. The position also involves supervising technicians on shift and liaising with external service vendors for specialised repair and maintenance work. Required Qualifications Candidates must hold a valid B or C Electrical License. A background in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering disciplines is essential. Familiarity with Medical Gas Pipeline Systems, fault diagnosis, and utility system operations in a hospital or large commercial facility setting is highly preferred.
