Senior WLAN Implementation Engineer

Role Overview Qualcomm India Private Limited is looking for a Senior WLAN Implementation Engineer to join its world-class hardware engineering team in Chennai. The selected candidate will take ownership of next-generation WLAN hardmacro implementation, working with cutting-edge methodologies, tools, and process technologies including 6nm and beyond. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative WLAN product development at both block/IP-level and system-level. Key Responsibilities - Lead physical and power-aware synthesis, logic equivalence checking, constraints generation and validation, and static timing analysis - Optimize datapath designs for low area, low power, and high speed using advanced synthesis techniques such as MCMM, SAIF, and multibit mapping - Collaborate with physical design teams, CAD teams, IP teams, and Design Technology teams for flow script and tool development and validation - Perform netlist-level ECOs manually or using Conformal ECO tools - Drive timing closure at chip-level and hard-macro level - Develop and manage timing constraints with strong understanding of AOCV/POCV concepts, CTS, latch transparency, 0-cycle, and multi-cycle path handling - Write automation scripts using TCL/Perl to improve design productivity - Mentor junior team members and guide them through implementation challenges Required Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field - 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in SOC logic synthesis and timing constraints - Proficiency in one or more EDA tools including Synthesis tools (DC Graphical, Fusion Compiler, Genus), Formal Verification tools (LEC, Formality), and STA tools (Primetime, Tempus) - Strong understanding of low power design and power simulations using PTPX, Power Artist, or Conformal Low Power - Good scripting skills in TCL and/or Perl - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills - Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative global team environment - Familiarity with Digital Communications and LTE/802.11 protocols is an added advantage Why Join Us Qualcomm is a global technology leader renowned for pushing the boundaries of wireless innovation, and this role places you at the heart of that mission.
