Senior LLM and Agentic AI Engineer - Assistant Vice President

Role Overview Citi is seeking a hands-on Senior AI Engineer to design, build, and scale next-generation AI-powered digital experiences for one of the world's leading global banks. You will work on Generative AI, Agentic AI, Conversational AI, and Machine Learning solutions that automate workflows and deliver personalized customer experiences at scale. Key Responsibilities - Design and deploy enterprise-grade Generative AI applications using LLMs such as GPT, Claude, and Gemini - Build Agentic AI solutions using frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, and CrewAI - Develop multi-agent systems to automate customer journeys and business workflows - Implement advanced prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, and AI guardrails to improve response quality - Design and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures and integrate vector databases with enterprise knowledge repositories - Build scalable backend services and REST APIs using Java and Python - Develop cloud-native microservices and integrate AI capabilities into customer-facing applications - Monitor model performance, latency, and operational costs while implementing AI governance and responsible AI practices - Collaborate with architects, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact AI solutions Required Qualifications - 8 to 11 years of overall software engineering experience - Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience building GenAI or LLM-powered applications - Strong working knowledge of LLMs including GPT, Claude, or Gemini - Practical experience with AI agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or CrewAI - Proficiency in Retrieval-Augmented Generation and vector database integration - Strong programming skills in Java and Python - Experience building REST APIs and microservices - Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern software development practices - Experience with MLOps, recommendation engines, or conversational AI platforms is a plus - Knowledge of financial services or digital banking is an added advantage Why Join Us At Citi, you will work at the forefront of AI innovation, building intelligent systems that directly impact millions of customers globally.
