DevOps Engineer

Role Overview Citi is looking for a seasoned DevOps Engineer to join its technology team in Chennai. This is a hands-on role that blends infrastructure engineering with DevOps practices, with a special focus on supporting Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning initiatives. The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvement, contribute to scalable infrastructure design, and coach the team on modern engineering practices within an agile environment. Key Responsibilities - Design, implement, and manage secure and resilient infrastructure components - Administer secret and certificate management solutions using HashiCorp Vault, including policy definition and system integrations - Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot data orchestration workflows and messaging platforms such as Kafka and Solace - Design and manage container orchestration using Kubernetes and Helm, including CyberArk and HashiCorp integrations, and debug Kubernetes PODs, Jobs, and Deployments via YAML - Configure and maintain persistent storage solutions including PVCs, SONiC NAS, and S3 - Implement and optimize build and deployment pipelines using Gradle and CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions - Set up and manage monitoring and logging systems using Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK Stack - Develop automation scripts and tooling using Python, Bash, or Go to streamline operational workflows - Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and runbooks - Coach team members on agile best practices, self-organization, and continuous improvement in DevOps contexts Required Qualifications - 7 or more years of hands-on experience in DevOps and infrastructure engineering - Proven expertise with HashiCorp Vault for secrets and certificate management - In-depth experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and YAML-based configuration and troubleshooting - Practical knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP - Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible - Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go - Experience with monitoring stacks including Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK - Proficiency with Gradle for build automation - Strong communication skills for bridging technical and process-oriented discussions - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred Why Join Us Citi is a globally respected financial institution that invests in the growth and development of its people.
