Data and Business Intelligence Specialist

Role Overview Citi is looking for a passionate and technically sound Data and Business Intelligence Specialist to join its Decision Management team in Chennai. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and PySpark for efficient data processing - Write complex SQL and SAS queries to extract, manipulate, and analyse large datasets and generate actionable insights - Build and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards and reports that support business decision-making - Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of all business intelligence outputs - Establish and enforce data quality standards and governance policies across data sources - Monitor data quality metrics, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective measures proactively - Develop, configure, and support business process management applications using the Appian platform - Leverage Xceptor for intelligent data capture, extraction, and workflow automation solutions - Identify process improvement opportunities and implement automation to enhance operational efficiency - Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and data professionals to translate requirements into technical solutions - Present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences - Assess risk appropriately when business decisions are made, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, policies, and ethical standards Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative discipline - 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in a data analyst, SQL developer, Tableau developer, or similar capacity - Strong proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, and SAS for data analysis and manipulation - Hands-on experience with Tableau development including data modelling, dashboard design, and performance optimisation - Working knowledge of Appian for building and deploying business process applications - Familiarity with Xceptor for data extraction and intelligent automation - Experience with analytic tools such as SAS E-Miner, Knowledge Seeker, or SPSS - Exposure to big data technologies and machine learning frameworks such as R or Python ML libraries - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills - Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Why Join Us Citi offers a dynamic, inclusive, and globally connected work environment where your contributions directly influence how one of the largest financial institutions in the world manages and leverages data.
