Senior Design Engineer

Role Overview Molex is looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Design Engineer with deep expertise in CAD tools including Siemens NX and PLM Teamcenter. The role demands strong mechanical engineering fundamentals along with the ability to develop high-quality product designs through cross-functional collaboration. You will be an integral part of a global engineering team supporting Connector Product Lines within the Datacom and Specialty Solutions Division, delivering products for data centers, cloud computing, and AI infrastructure. Key Responsibilities - Develop new concepts, 3D models, and mechanical assemblies using Siemens NX with high accuracy and adherence to design specifications - Work closely with supervisors and cross-functional teams to interpret customer requirements and convert them into detailed 3D models and 2D engineering drawings - Create and maintain engineering documentation including BOMs, ECOs, and release packages within Teamcenter - Manage CAD file organization, version control, and data integrity within Teamcenter - Lead design reviews and cross-functional meetings, providing technical insights and driving design improvement actions - Perform tolerance analysis and verification to ensure proper fit, form, and function of parts and assemblies - Conduct design feasibility studies, risk assessments, and propose solutions to optimize product designs - Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to resolve design-related issues and support efficient production processes - Mentor and guide junior engineers while ensuring project timelines and quality requirements are met Required Qualifications - Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering - 6 to 9 years of experience in product design, development, modification, validation, testing, and field application support - Proven ability to lead engineering projects and design activities independently - Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring junior team members - Proficiency in solid modeling software for 3D modeling and 2D drafting - Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) - Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as molding, sheet metal tooling, fabrication, and assembly - Solid knowledge of material selection and component manufacturing processes - Strong verbal and written communication skills in English - Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Why Join Us At Molex and Koch companies, employees are empowered to challenge the status quo, innovate, and create meaningful value while being recognized for their individual contributions.
