Job Description

Role Overview U.S. Bancorp India is looking for an experienced Senior Benefit Administrator to join its Human Resources team in Chennai. This is a full-time, mid-senior level role designed for a seasoned HR professional with deep expertise in global benefits administration and a passion for driving strategic, cost-effective employee benefit solutions. You will work closely with internal HR stakeholders, vendors, and senior leadership to ensure benefit plans are competitive, compliant, and aligned with global standards. Key Responsibilities - Benchmark employee benefits against market trends and develop cost-effective recommendations that support global harmonization - Provide strategic oversight of retirement offerings including design and launch of pension schemes in line with regulatory and cost efficiency requirements - Act as the primary point of contact for benefits-related queries from local HR teams and escalate complex issues as needed - Support renewal, review, and negotiation of benefit plan policies with thorough analysis - Drive employee communications around benefits and wellbeing programs - Manage relationships with insurers, brokers, and vendors while overseeing the approved vendor and purchase order process - Ensure governance and compliance of employee leave frameworks in accordance with local statutory regulations - Provide guidance and mentorship to junior benefits and payroll administrators - Support benefit due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic projects - Assist local HR teams with membership reviews to maintain data integrity - Ensure adherence to Indian labour and social security regulations Required Qualifications - Minimum 5 years of progressive experience managing global benefits programs - At least 10 years of broad HR or payroll experience - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including data modelling and PowerPoint presentation skills for senior management - Strong analytical, numerical, and attention-to-detail capabilities - Experience with HR Information Systems and benefits software; familiarity with Workday or ServiceNow is a plus - Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and manage complex projects end to end - Effective vendor management and contract oversight experience - Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders - High level of organisational ability and time management skills Why Join Us U.S. Bancorp India offers a dynamic and inclusive work environment where every individual is encouraged to grow, explore new skills, and reach their full potential from day one. Requirements

- 5 or more years of global benefits administration experience - 10 or more years of HR or payroll experience - Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills - Strong analytical and numerical skills - Experience with HRIS platforms such as Workday or ServiceNow - Effective vendor management and stakeholder engagement skills - Knowledge of Indian labour and social security regulations - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects - High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
