Accounting Specialist - Corporate Payables

Role Overview U.S. Bancorp India Private Limited (USBIPL) is a Global Capability Center based in Chennai, operating as a core part of U.S. Bank's Global Financial Operations. This is a ground-floor opportunity to join a newly established GCC and help shape high-quality finance operations for a leading U.S. bank. The Accounting Specialist – Corporate Payables will handle transactional work across one or more assigned areas including Accounts Payable, Vendor Management, or Travel and Expense, using modern platforms like Workday Financials. Key Responsibilities - Process vendor invoices and payables transactions in Workday Financials, verifying accuracy, documentation, and required approvals - Handle vendor setup, modification, and inactivation requests while validating legal, banking, and tax documentation - Review employee expense reports and receipts against U.S. Bank guidelines and ensure timely resolution within defined SLAs - Resolve routine invoice and expense exceptions per standard operating procedures and escalate complex issues when required - Maintain accurate records and supporting evidence to meet SOX compliance and internal audit requirements - Respond to vendor and internal partner queries under guidance and build working knowledge of end-to-end source-to-pay processes - Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives as assigned Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline - 2 to 5 years of experience in accounts payable, vendor operations, travel and expense, or finance back-office functions - Solid understanding of invoice processing, vendor onboarding, or expense reimbursement workflows - Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately in high-volume transaction environments - Clear and professional written English for documentation, status updates, and stakeholder communication - Familiarity with Workday Financials is a preferred advantage Why Join Us Joining USBIPL means being part of a team that is building something meaningful from the ground up within one of India's most dynamic GCC ecosystems. - 2 to 5 years of experience in AP, vendor management, T&E, or finance back office - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent - Knowledge of invoice processing and vendor onboarding workflows - Proficiency in or willingness to work with Workday Financials - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume environments - Clear written English communication skills - Ability to follow structured SOPs and meet deadlines consistently - Understanding of SOX compliance and audit documentation requirements
