SAS and SQL Developer - Assistant Vice President

Role Overview Citi is looking for an experienced SAS and SQL Developer at the Assistant Vice President level to provide MIS support for its Mortgage Servicing Control teams and key business partners including Compliance, Internal Audit, Credit Risk, and Originations. This is a full-time opportunity based in Chennai, offering exposure to large-scale financial data environments including data warehouses, big data platforms, and enterprise reporting systems. The role demands strong analytical thinking, hands-on coding expertise, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate, compliant data extractions and reports. Key Responsibilities - Engage with business partners and MIS teams to define data requirements and identify relevant source data points for control executions - Translate intake requirements into SAS and SQL logic to extract populations and statistically valid samples for testing - Write new programs or update existing code to extract, transform, and profile large datasets - Prepare program logic documentation and submit changes for management approval - Respond promptly to Internal Audit queries and conduct testing to validate extraction accuracy - Assist in uploading final reports to the QA system and support the development of monthly reports for senior management - Write Unix Shell scripts and schedule SAS programs using the AutoSys scheduling tool for automation - Maintain data integrity across populations and departmental reports to meet compliance and regulatory standards - Develop ad-hoc analytical reports as requested by unit managers Required Qualifications - 6 to 10 years of experience in data management, analytics, or a related field within financial services - Proven experience as an Operations Research Analyst, Analytics Manager, or Strategic Business Analyst with a focus on quantitative analytics - Strong proficiency in SAS and SQL programming for data extraction, transformation, and reporting - Familiarity with Operational Data Store, Enterprise Data Warehouse, and Big Data Hadoop environments - Experience with Citi backend systems such as Origination Empower, ODS Oracle, EDW Teradata, and EAP is preferred - Ability to write Python code for complex or repetitive analytical tasks - Working knowledge of SAS macros, Unix basic commands, and shell scripting - Understanding of the AutoSys job scheduling tool - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; a Master's degree is preferred - Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach Why Join Us Citi is a globally recognised financial institution that offers a dynamic and inclusive work environment where your analytical skills can make a real impact at scale.
