SAS and SQL Developer - Assistant Vice President

Role Overview Citi is looking for a skilled SAS and SQL Developer at the Assistant Vice President level to provide MIS support for its Mortgage Servicing Control teams in Chennai. This role involves close collaboration with business partners including Compliance, Internal Audit, Credit Risk, and Originations to define data requirements and deliver high-quality analytical outputs. The position plays a critical part in maintaining data integrity and supporting regulatory compliance through precise data extraction, profiling, and reporting. Key Responsibilities - Coordinate with business partners and MIS teams to gather and define data and reporting requirements - Translate test intake forms into SAS and SQL logic to extract populations and statistically valid samples for control executions - Write new programs or update existing ones to extract, transform, and profile data from enterprise systems - Prepare program logic documentation and submit changes to management for approval - Respond promptly to Internal Audit enquiries and implement changes based on test results - Upload final reports to the QA system (Quest) and support reviewers during the testing phase - Write Unix Shell scripts and add SAS programs to AutoSys scheduler for job automation - Develop ad-hoc and monthly reports for unit managers and upper management as required - Maintain data integrity of departmental populations and reports to satisfy compliance and regulatory standards Required Qualifications - 6 to 10 years of experience in data management, analytics, or a related quantitative discipline - Prior experience as an Operations Research Analyst, Analytics Manager, or Strategic Business Analyst in financial services - Proficiency in writing SAS and SQL programs for data extraction and transformation - Hands-on experience with Operational Data Store (ODS), Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), and Big Data Hadoop environments - Familiarity with Citi backend systems such as Origination Empower, ODS Oracle, EDW Teradata, and EAP - Ability to write Python code for complex or repetitive analytical tasks - Working knowledge of SAS macros, Unix commands, and basic shell scripting - Knowledge of AutoSys scheduling tool for automating jobs - Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team - Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's degree preferred Why Join Us Citi offers a dynamic and inclusive work environment where your analytical expertise will directly support critical risk management and compliance functions.
