SAP MM Functional Consultant

Role Overview Saint-Gobain Group in India is looking for an experienced SAP MM Functional Consultant to join their team at Egmore, Chennai. This is a full-time, immediate-joining opportunity suited for a mid-senior level professional with strong expertise in SAP Materials Management within Indian manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will play a key role in implementing and optimising SAP MM solutions to streamline procurement, inventory, and sourcing operations. Key Responsibilities - Implement, configure, and optimise SAP MM functionalities to enhance procurement, inventory management, and sourcing processes in manufacturing setups - Analyse business processes specific to Indian manufacturing sectors and tailor SAP MM solutions to align with organisational objectives - Lead or support end-to-end project lifecycles covering requirements gathering, system design, configuration, testing, user training, and post-go-live support - Collaborate with cross-functional teams across procurement, logistics, production planning, finance, and quality management to ensure seamless SAP MM integration with SD, PP, FI/CO, and QM modules - Drive process standardisation and improvements in procurement and inventory management in line with best practices and Indian regulatory compliance - Manage data migration and interface handling between SAP ECC or S/4HANA and third-party systems - Conduct end-user workshops and training sessions to ensure effective adoption of SAP MM functionalities - Provide ongoing functional support, troubleshooting, and enhancement recommendations for SAP MM-related issues - Maintain thorough documentation of configurations, processes, and change logs for audit and knowledge management purposes Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline - Minimum 4 to 10 years of hands-on SAP MM implementation, configuration, and support experience, preferably in Indian manufacturing industries - Strong consulting background with the ability to advise clients on SAP best practices and minimise unnecessary customisation - Sound understanding of procurement, inventory management, materials planning, and accounts payable processes in manufacturing - Good working knowledge of SAP integration touchpoints with SD, PP, FI/CO, and QM modules - Familiarity with data migration tools and SAP Activate methodology is an added advantage - Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills for client-facing and cross-team collaboration - SAP MM certification and experience with SAP Fiori apps are desirable - Exposure to project management methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall is a plus - Hands-on knowledge of EDI, SAP workflows, and MM-related embedded analytics is beneficial - Prior experience with large Indian manufacturing companies in automotive, chemicals, or fertilisers sectors is highly valued Why Join Us Saint-Gobain Group in India is a globally recognised leader with a strong manufacturing presence, offering professionals the opportunity to work on high-impact SAP transformation projects.
