Job Description

Role Overview Edwards Vacuum is looking for a driven and technically sound Sales Engineer or Senior Sales Engineer to manage and grow business for its industrial vacuum pump solutions across the Chennai and Tamil Nadu region. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for customers within your territory, responsible for expanding market presence, increasing sales volumes, and strengthening market share in alignment with the Vacuum Technique business structure. You will work closely with internal teams, distributors, and channel partners to deliver outstanding pre-sales and post-sales technical support. Key Responsibilities - Identify customer requirements and recommend suitable Edwards vacuum pump products, equipment, and engineering adaptations - Establish and develop new accounts within the assigned territory through structured sales call planning and prospecting - Prepare detailed cost estimates by studying customer documents and coordinating with the sales manager and technical teams - Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations to gain customer acceptance and highlight operational improvements - Submit sales orders in coordination with technical support and engineering change teams - Conduct forecast review and debt collection update meetings with the sales manager on a regular basis - Manage and monitor distributor performance, conduct product training for dealer engineers, and keep channel partners updated with relevant technical information - Develop and evaluate weekly and monthly sales reports and track performance against growth objectives - Manage receivables, coordinate with accounts for reconciliation, and ensure compliance with bank guarantees and LC procedures - Travel extensively within the business territory to meet customers, OEMs, and channel partners - Research potential customers, make introductory visits, and carry out technical and commercial negotiations to meet budget targets Required Qualifications - Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline - Minimum 2 years of experience in capital goods sales such as compressors, vacuum pumps, or similar industrial equipment - Strong value selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills - Knowledge of vacuum pumping systems including water ring, oil-lubricated, and dry vacuum pumps is an advantage - Proficiency in English and local languages with strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Hindi - Computer literacy and analytical ability to handle reporting and multi-task activities - Self-motivated, energetic, and willing to travel extensively as the role demands Why Join Us At Edwards Vacuum, you will be part of a culture built on trust, accountability, and lifelong learning, where innovation is driven by people and curiosity is celebrated. Requirements

- Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related discipline - Minimum 2 years of experience in capital goods sales such as compressors or vacuum pumps - Strong value selling and commercial negotiation skills - Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with customers and channel partners - Knowledge of vacuum pumping systems is an added advantage - Proficiency in English and Hindi with strong communication skills - Computer literacy and analytical skills for sales reporting - Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory - Self-motivated and target-driven with strong presentation skills - Ability to manage distributors, dealers, and OEM accounts effectively
