Principal Python Engineer - Architect (ATC)

Role Overview Thryve Digital Health LLP, a captive of a leading US healthcare conglomerate, is looking for a Principal Software Engineer with deep Python expertise to join its growing engineering team in Chennai. This role sits at the intersection of technical leadership and hands-on software development, requiring someone who can drive architectural decisions while also delivering high-quality code. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable, enterprise-grade healthcare solutions that directly impact patient outcomes globally. Key Responsibilities - Contribute to defining the technology roadmap and architectural approach for assigned applications and products - Design and implement efficient server-side applications using Python frameworks such as Flask and Django - Conduct peer code reviews and provide mentoring and coaching to junior engineers - Automate code quality checks and enforce coding and design standards across the team - Identify and resolve technical blockers, performance bottlenecks, and issues across application, cloud, and database layers - Deploy solutions to test environments and manage the elevation of releases to production - Own and contribute to technical and solution documentation for all assigned deliverables - Proactively identify project risks and propose mitigation strategies - Demonstrate end-to-end technical delivery accountability and meet schedule commitments with quality Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical discipline - 10 to 12 years or 15 or more years of overall software development experience - Minimum 5 to 6 years of hands-on Python development experience with demonstrable GitLab project history - Strong command of data structures, algorithms, and their practical application in software development - At least 6 years of experience building scalable, enterprise-level applications - Solid understanding of RESTful web services design and implementation - Ability to quickly produce prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions - Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical scenarios to architects and leadership Why Join Us Thryve Digital Health offers a unique opportunity to work at the cutting edge of global healthcare technology with direct access to insights from a top US healthcare group. - 10 to 12 years of software development experience with 5 to 6 years in Python - Proficiency in Python frameworks including Flask and Django - Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms - Experience building scalable enterprise applications for 6 or more years - Hands-on experience with RESTful web services - Ability to produce prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions quickly - Experience with GitLab and performance tuning of Python applications - Good to have: JavaScript, Node.js framework, and CI/CD experience
