Role Overview
Virtusa is hiring a skilled Kubernetes Engineer to join its cloud and infrastructure team in Chennai. This full-time role is suited for professionals with strong hands-on experience in container orchestration, cloud infrastructure management, and automation using modern DevOps practices. You will work alongside cross-functional teams to build, secure, and scale containerized platforms on AWS and multi-cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters running on AWS infrastructure
- Build and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable container platforms
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices
- Manage Linux servers including system monitoring, patching, and performance tuning
- Support CI/CD pipeline integration for containerized application workloads
- Collaborate with DevOps, development, and cloud teams on application deployments
- Monitor cluster health, resource utilization, and overall application performance
- Implement security best practices for Kubernetes workloads and cloud environments
- Provide support for PostgreSQL databases including deployment, backup, and basic troubleshooting
- Contribute to multi-cloud initiatives spanning AWS, Azure, and GCP platforms
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker container technologies
- Solid Linux system administration skills
- Practical experience with AWS services including EC2, EKS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, and S3
- Hands-on expertise in Terraform for infrastructure automation
- Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions
- Understanding of networking concepts, load balancing, and container security
- Scripting ability in Shell or Python
- Exposure to Azure and GCP platforms is an added advantage
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana is preferred
- Knowledge of Helm, ArgoCD, or Istio will be a plus
