Payroll Design Specialist - Bangkok Based with Relocation Support

Role Overview Agoda, a global travel technology company and part of Booking Holdings, is looking for a Payroll Design Specialist to join their Bangkok-based team. This is a mid-senior level role focused on building and sustaining a world-class global payroll governance and service delivery framework. Relocation support is provided for candidates based in India or other regions. The role serves as the critical bridge between strategic payroll design and day-to-day operational execution, ensuring accuracy, audit readiness, and continuous improvement across all geographies. Key Responsibilities - Own and continuously improve the global payroll operating model including SOPs, process maps, escalation frameworks, and payroll calendars - Design and manage a comprehensive SLA and KPI framework covering accuracy, on-time delivery, first-time-right rates, and cost efficiency - Produce and analyze monthly performance dashboards and lead root-cause analysis for any service gaps or delivery failures - Serve as the primary coordination point for all internal and external payroll audits including SOC1 and ISAE reviews, ensuring perpetual audit readiness - Establish and lead a Payroll Continuous Improvement framework using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen to reduce manual processing, errors, and cycle times - Act as Payroll Subject Matter Expert on system upgrades, vendor transitions, and country expansion projects including UAT and cutover planning - Manage vendor performance through SLA tracking, Quarterly Business Reviews, and Service Improvement Plans - Partner with the Payroll Accounting team to align controls, ensure clean general ledger handoffs, and govern payroll-to-GL reconciliation processes Required Qualifications - 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in global payroll operations, payroll project management, governance, or payroll accounting - Proven hands-on experience designing SLAs and KPIs and leading large-scale payroll transformation initiatives - Demonstrated experience managing outsourced multi-country payroll vendors - Practical knowledge of major payroll platforms such as Workday, SAP, ADP, CloudPay, or Dayforce - Strong skills in process mapping, re-engineering, and structured governance and documentation - Excellent analytical ability including trend identification, KPI design, and root-cause analysis - Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage senior leadership, technical teams, and external vendors - Ability to lead and influence across a complex, matrixed global organization without direct authority Why Join Us Agoda brings together over 7,000 professionals from 90 countries united by a shared passion for travel and technology, offering a dynamic and inclusive environment where innovation is encouraged at every level.
