Payroll Design Specialist - Bangkok Based with Relocation Support

Role Overview Agoda, a leading global travel platform and part of Booking Holdings, is seeking an experienced Payroll Design Specialist to join their Bangkok-based team. This is a mid-senior level position focused on designing, governing, and continuously improving the global payroll operational framework across a diverse, multi-country organisation. Key Responsibilities - Own and continuously enhance the global payroll operating model, including standard operating procedures, process maps, and escalation frameworks - Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive SLA and KPI framework covering accuracy, timeliness, first-time-right rates, and cost efficiency - Act as the primary coordination point for all internal and external payroll audits including Internal Audit, External Audit, and SOC1/ISAE reviews - Establish and lead the Payroll Continuous Improvement framework by identifying automation, standardisation, and simplification opportunities using methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma - Serve as the payroll Subject Matter Expert on key projects including system upgrades, vendor transitions, and country expansion initiatives - Manage global payroll vendors through rigorous SLA tracking, Quarterly Business Reviews, and service improvement plans - Partner with the Payroll Accounting team to ensure seamless handoffs between payroll processing and accounting activities, including payroll-to-GL reconciliation governance - Produce and analyse monthly performance dashboards to identify trends, service gaps, and corrective action areas Required Qualifications - 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in global payroll operations, payroll governance, project management, or payroll accounting - Demonstrated experience designing SLA and KPI frameworks and leading process improvement initiatives within large-scale payroll environments - Proven track record managing outsourced payroll vendors and multi-country payroll models - Hands-on exposure to major payroll platforms such as Workday, SAP, ADP, CloudPay, or Dayforce - Strong command of process mapping, re-engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies including Lean and Six Sigma - Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to perform root-cause analysis and translate data into actionable insights - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage senior leadership, technical teams, and external vendors effectively - A structured, detail-oriented approach to documentation, risk management, and governance controls Why Join Us Agoda offers a truly global work environment with over 7,000 colleagues from 90 countries, where data and technology drive innovation every day.
