Network Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer to join our Chennai team and support critical network infrastructure operations in a 24x7 NOC environment. Key Responsibilities - Provide BAU support and NOC operations in a 24x7 shift environment - Perform root cause analysis for day-to-day technical issues in client environments and establish recovery and prevention processes - Coordinate with onshore teams and interface with customers, vendors, and partners for timely issue resolution - Assist Team Leads and Delivery Managers in maintaining SLA adherence - Define, implement, and enforce network standards while managing exception handling - Propose solution alternatives and provide impact analysis for technical changes - Contribute ideas for continuous service quality improvement - Support team capability building and help foster a strong team culture Required Qualifications - Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent degree with a minimum of 16 years of formal education - 2 to 7 years of overall work experience with at least 2 years of relevant network engineering experience - Solid knowledge of MPLS, LAN, WAN, and network security concepts including VLANs and VPNs - Hands-on experience with routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and ISIS - Experience with network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, proxies, load balancers, and unified communication devices - Familiarity with Zabbix, ServiceNow, Infoblox Net-MRI, or CA Spectrum is desirable - Experience configuring and troubleshooting firewalls such as Checkpoint and Fortinet - Knowledge of IPAM systems including DNS, DHCP, and NTP via Infoblox - CCNA Routing and Switching certification is desirable; ITIL V3 Foundation is a plus Why Join Us At CGI, you are treated as a partner from day one, with the opportunity to shape your career in a company built for long-term growth and success. - NOC experience with readiness to work in 24x7 rotational shifts - Proficiency in routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and ISIS - Experience with MPLS, LAN, WAN, VLANs, and VPN technologies - Hands-on knowledge of firewalls such as Checkpoint and Fortinet - Familiarity with Zabbix, ServiceNow, or similar network monitoring tools - Experience with IPAM systems including DNS, DHCP, and NTP - Knowledge of load balancers, proxies, and unified communication devices - CCNA certification (desirable) - ITIL V3 Foundation (desirable) - Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills - Good communication and team collaboration abilities
