Data Architect

Role Overview CGI is looking for a talented Data Architect to join its growing team in Chennai. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and managing scalable, secure, and high-performance data ecosystems that drive business value. You will translate complex business requirements into robust technical data solutions that enhance data quality, accessibility, and enterprise-wide decision-making. Key Responsibilities - Define and implement target-state data architecture aligned with business strategy - Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models including star and snowflake schemas - Build and oversee ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration patterns across source and target systems - Establish enterprise data governance standards, metadata management, and master data management frameworks - Lead cloud data platform design and migration across Azure, AWS, or GCP - Ensure data quality, lineage, security, and regulatory compliance across all data assets - Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end data solutions - Support analytics, reporting, AI/ML, and operational systems through scalable data architecture Required Qualifications - Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark for data processing and transformation - Hands-on experience with cloud and data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS, or GCP - Experience with integration and pipeline tools like Informatica, Talend, dbt, or Kafka - Knowledge of BI and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau - Strong understanding of data warehousing, data lake design, and dimensional modeling - Ability to reduce technical debt and enable self-service analytics at an enterprise scale Why Join Us At CGI, you are treated as a partner from day one, with direct ownership in the company's growth and direction. - SQL, Python, and Spark proficiency - Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or similar cloud data platforms - Knowledge of Azure, AWS, or GCP - Hands-on with ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica, Talend, or dbt - Familiarity with Kafka for data streaming - BI tools experience including Power BI or Tableau - Strong grasp of data governance and master data management - Understanding of ER modeling and dimensional modeling concepts - Ability to design enterprise-grade data architecture - Strong stakeholder communication and solution design skills
