MES Software Engineer

Role Overview KLA, a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing technologies, is looking for a skilled MES Software Engineer to join its IT team in Chennai. In this role, you will design, develop, configure, and deploy Manufacturing Execution System solutions using Rockwell FactoryTalk ProductionCentre and Modular Framework. You will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and IT stakeholders to build scalable, compliant, and optimised production systems that power discrete manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities - Configure, customise, and develop MES applications based on business requirements and functional specifications - Design and implement solutions using Rockwell FactoryTalk ProductionCentre (FTPC) and Modular Framework in compliance with ISA-95 standards - Support MES installations, upgrades, and production deployments across the manufacturing environment - Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand discrete manufacturing processes and translate them into actionable MES architecture - Define and implement data integration strategies between MES, ERP systems, PLCs, and other enterprise and shop-floor systems - Enable real-time data exchange, end-to-end traceability, and manufacturing visibility - Lead or contribute to full-cycle MES implementation projects from design through deployment - Coordinate with cross-functional teams including IT, engineering, manufacturing, and external partners - Conduct gap analysis and process assessments to identify opportunities for MES optimisation Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 3 years, or Doctorate with 0 years - Hands-on experience with Rockwell FactoryTalk ProductionCentre and Modular Framework - Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript, ReactJS, SQL, HTML/CSS, and PNUTS - Experience developing and consuming RESTful web services - Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD tools including Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, and GitHub - Understanding of ISA-95 and manufacturing system architectures Why Join Us KLA invests over 15% of its annual sales back into research and development, making it one of the most innovation-driven companies in the semiconductor industry.
