Manager, Software Engineering

Role Overview KLA is a global leader in semiconductor process control technology, powering virtually every electronic device manufactured worldwide. As a Manager of Software Engineering at KLA's Optical Metrology Division, you will lead a team of skilled software engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions for cutting-edge optical metrology products. This is a high-impact leadership role that blends deep technical expertise with strong project management and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage a team of software engineers to deliver product software on schedule and with high quality standards - Acquire and demonstrate in-depth technical knowledge of Optical Metrology Division product software - Ensure detailed designs, code, and unit tests are robust, scalable, consistent, and future-proof - Understand existing software architecture and drive design and architectural improvements - Create and manage project plans while providing regular progress updates to senior leadership - Identify, review, and mitigate technical risks in collaboration with the Product Manager - Provide technical guidance during effort estimation processes - Contribute to the continuous improvement of development procedures and engineering best practices Required Qualifications - BE, BS, or BTech degree with 10 or more years of software development experience - Minimum 3 years of experience managing software teams or software products - Strong foundation in programming fundamentals, object-oriented programming, C++, VC++, MFC, and COM - Proven experience architecting software systems from scratch - Hands-on background in analysis, design, development, and unit testing across diverse projects - Thorough knowledge of SDLC and software engineering principles - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels - Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and motivational abilities - Willingness to travel to Israel, the US, and other customer locations for short assignments - Preferred: Knowledge of STL, WinDBG, and Windows Internals - Preferred: Familiarity with semiconductor domain or KLA-specific technologies Why Join Us KLA invests over 15 percent of its revenue back into research and development, creating an environment where innovation and technical excellence are at the forefront. - 10+ years of software development experience with BE/BS/BTech degree - Minimum 3 years of software team or product management experience - Proficiency in C++, VC++, MFC, COM, and OOP concepts - Experience designing and architecting software systems from the ground up - Strong knowledge of SDLC and software engineering best practices - Hands-on experience in analysis, design, development, and unit testing - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - Willingness to travel internationally to Israel, the US, and customer sites - Preferred: Knowledge of STL, WinDBG, and Windows Internals - Preferred: Semiconductor domain knowledge
