Live Operations Manager - Prime Video Playback Live Operations

Role Overview Amazon is looking for an experienced Live Operations Manager to lead a high-performing team of Live Ops Support Engineers at its Prime Video division in Hyderabad. In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end live streaming operations pipeline, ensuring disruption-free broadcast experiences for millions of customers worldwide. Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage the day-to-day live event operations team, maintaining high standards of efficiency and operational excellence - Monitor live streaming pipelines and provide hands-on guidance during escalations, coordinating with engineering teams as needed - Define, track, and continuously improve success metrics through regular quality reviews to boost team performance and customer satisfaction - Recruit, mentor, and develop Live Ops Support Engineers, building their technical and operational capabilities - Drive a forward-looking strategy by planning multiple quarters ahead and transitioning the team toward an automation-first, manage-by-exception operating model - Recommend and implement systems and processes that meet quality, performance, and sustainability criteria for large-scale live event broadcasting Required Qualifications - Minimum 5 years of technical support experience - At least 3 years of experience in live streaming video delivery for large-scale audience events - Minimum 2 years of team management experience - Hands-on experience with video encoding, transcoding, and streaming media standards - Working knowledge of AWS or equivalent cloud technologies - Experience with video quality metric tools such as TAG or IneoQuest - Strong skills in requirement gathering, documentation, and stakeholder communication - Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues and identify root causes effectively Why Join Us At Amazon, you will be part of an inclusive and innovation-driven culture that empowers you to deliver meaningful impact for customers at a global scale. - 5+ years of technical support experience - 3+ years of live streaming video delivery experience for large-scale events - 2+ years of people management experience - Experience with video encoding and transcoding technologies - Knowledge of AWS or cloud platforms - Familiarity with video quality tools such as TAG or IneoQuest - Experience with on-site live video production or master control facility operations - Strong documentation and requirement gathering skills - Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities - Experience in program or project management (preferred) - Knowledge of networking fundamentals (preferred) - Experience scripting in modern programming languages (preferred) - Background in live sports broadcasting (preferred)
