Lead Control Panel Engineer

We are looking for a Lead Control Panel Engineer to join our Chennai team and drive the design, integration, and technical delivery of DCS and Balance of Plant cabinet systems for power plant applications. This is a mid-senior level full-time opportunity for engineers who thrive on solving complex challenges and building systems that power the future. Key Responsibilities - Lead the end-to-end design of packaged control systems including cabinet layout, internal components, power distribution, and overall system architecture - Ensure all designs conform to project specifications, applicable industry standards, and customer-specific requirements - Select and integrate DCS controllers, I/O cards, and related components for optimal performance and seamless inter-system communication - Apply in-depth knowledge of DCS and PLC platforms to configure, integrate, and troubleshoot control devices within packaged systems - Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, vendors, and OEMs throughout design, testing, and installation phases - Create and maintain complete system design documentation including schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals - Provide engineering support during control panel assembly, troubleshooting, and modifications - Support technical sales activities by contributing to customer proposals and pre-bid engineering inputs Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Control, or Mechanical Engineering - Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience designing and integrating control systems with a focus on DCS and PLC platforms - Proven experience with BOP cabinet engineering for power plant applications - Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layout design - Familiarity with cybersecurity practices for industrial control systems - Working knowledge of PLM tools and CAD software such as Creo or AutoCAD Mechanical and Electrical - Understanding of industrial automation standards and safety regulations including IEC and ISO frameworks - Excellent communication and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously Why Join Us At Quest Global, every engineer is part of a mission to make the impossible possible for Fortune 500 customers across the globe. - Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Control, or Mechanical Engineering - Minimum 5 years of experience in DCS and PLC control system design and integration - Expertise in BOP cabinet engineering for power plant environments - Proficiency with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system architecture design - Knowledge of cybersecurity practices for industrial control environments - Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD Mechanical, or Creo - Familiarity with IEC, ISO, and industrial automation safety standards - Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills - Experience with gas, steam, or combined-cycle power plants is an advantage - Exposure to redundancy concepts, safety interlock systems, and international projects is preferred
