Kubernetes Engineer

Role Overview Virtusa is hiring a skilled Kubernetes Engineer to join its cloud infrastructure team in Chennai. This is a full-time opportunity for professionals with strong hands-on experience in container orchestration, cloud platforms, and infrastructure automation. You will play a key role in building and maintaining reliable, scalable Kubernetes environments across AWS and multi-cloud setups. Key Responsibilities - Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters running on AWS environments - Build and maintain secure, highly available, and scalable container platforms - Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices - Manage Linux servers with responsibilities including monitoring, patching, and performance tuning - Support CI/CD pipeline integration for containerized application workloads - Collaborate closely with DevOps, development, and cloud teams on application deployments - Monitor cluster health, resource utilization, and overall application performance - Implement security best practices for Kubernetes workloads and cloud infrastructure - Support PostgreSQL database deployment, backup, and basic troubleshooting tasks - Contribute to multi-cloud initiatives spanning AWS, Azure, and GCP environments Required Qualifications - Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker for container orchestration - Solid Linux administration background with system-level troubleshooting skills - Practical experience with AWS services including EC2, EKS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, and S3 - Hands-on expertise in Terraform for infrastructure automation - Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions - Good understanding of networking concepts, load balancing, and container security - Scripting proficiency in Shell or Python Why Join Us Virtusa is a global technology services company known for delivering digital transformation and engineering excellence across industries. - Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker - Linux server administration and performance tuning - AWS services knowledge including EC2, EKS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, and S3 - Terraform and Infrastructure as Code expertise - CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions - Networking, load balancing, and container security fundamentals - Shell or Python scripting skills - Exposure to Azure and GCP platforms is a plus - PostgreSQL administration or support experience preferred - Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Helm, ArgoCD, or Istio is advantageous
