Java Cloud Developer

Role Overview BNP Paribas India Solutions is hiring a skilled Java Cloud Developer to join the Cardif Corporate Data and AI department in Chennai. In this mid-senior role, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of Transversal Analytics Solutions, a suite of internal IT applications powering AI and analytics capabilities across more than 30 countries. You will work at the intersection of Java engineering and modern cloud technologies to build scalable, secure, and production-grade solutions. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, test, and deploy Java-based applications on cloud platforms - Build high-quality, scalable, and secure software using Java 17, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud - Participate in code reviews to ensure maintainability, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards - Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams - Develop and maintain technical documentation including design documents, user manuals, and release notes - Work within agile methodologies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives - Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of applications on Kubernetes and Docker environments - Stay current with emerging trends in Java, cloud computing, and software development Required Qualifications - Master's degree or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience - Strong proficiency in Java including Java 17 and associated frameworks such as Spring Boot and Spring Cloud - Hands-on experience with containerisation using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes - Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, ArgoCD, or Jenkins - Experience with RESTful web services and microservices architecture - Familiarity with PostgreSQL and cloud-native services - Working knowledge of Linux environments and shell scripting - Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills Why Join Us BNP Paribas is the European Union's leading bank, operating across 65 countries with nearly 185,000 employees worldwide.
