Java API Developer - RESTful Web Services and Microservices

Role Overview Wipro is looking for an experienced Java API Developer with strong expertise in RESTful Web Services, Spring Boot, and cloud-native technologies to join their digital transformation team in Chennai. The role involves supporting process delivery, resolving technical escalations, and building the technical capabilities of production specialists. You will work at the intersection of development and operations, ensuring high service standards while driving continuous improvement across teams. Key Responsibilities - Oversee daily production performance by reviewing transactions and monitoring team performance dashboards - Handle technical escalations through structured diagnosis and troubleshooting of complex client issues within defined SLAs - Resolve client queries in a professional and user-friendly manner, offering alternative solutions where appropriate - Document and analyze support logs to identify recurring trends and prevent future technical problems - Ensure compliance with service agreements and monitor adherence to standard operating procedures - Mentor and guide production specialists to improve their technical knowledge and overall performance - Design and conduct skill-gap training sessions (triages) based on interviews and assessments - Stay updated with product features and enroll in client-recommended training programs - Escalate unresolved issues to Technical Architects and Senior Engineers in a timely manner - Maintain follow-up schedules with clients to confirm issue resolution and SLA compliance Required Qualifications - Proven experience with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development using JAX-RS - Hands-on knowledge of cloud-native solutions including Kubernetes and Docker - Experience with AWS services such as EKS, RDS, S3, Lambda, VPC, Route53, IAM, and Secret Manager - Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and microservices architecture with API Gateway - Working knowledge of databases including Oracle and PostgreSQL - Familiarity with Kafka for event-driven architecture and messaging - Secondary skills in MongoDB, Camunda, Kafka, and gRPC are an added advantage - Experience with observability tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry - Strong communication and mentoring skills with the ability to manage technical teams Why Join Us Wipro is a globally recognized end-to-end digital transformation partner that fosters a culture of continuous reinvention and professional growth.
