IT Engineer - Power BI Expert

Role Overview BNP Paribas India Solutions is looking for a skilled IT Engineer with expertise in Power BI to join its Application Production team in Chennai. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a global banking group's digital transformation journey, supporting business intelligence tools and IT production activities across a large-scale enterprise environment. The selected candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams in India and coordinate with IT teams in Rome and Paris as part of an evolving IT operations framework. Key Responsibilities - Support end users in accessing, interpreting, and resolving issues related to Power BI reports and dashboards - Apply SQL knowledge to query databases, perform data integrity checks, generate diagnostic reports, and assist with data extraction and validation - Manage user access and security permissions within complex enterprise environments - Utilize ServiceNow for incident management, request handling, and access management workflows - Assist in the deployment and verification of application releases and monitor infrastructure and application performance - Coordinate with IT Application Production teams on IT evolution programs and contribute to transition project activities - Ensure smooth handover of IT projects to operational phases while continuously improving transition methodologies - Contribute to activity reporting, KPI calculation, and lessons-learned documentation Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent qualification - Hands-on experience with Power BI including data connections, report building, and access management - Proficiency in SQL for basic to intermediate querying, troubleshooting, and environment validation - Experience with ServiceNow for IT service management processes - Understanding of ITIL practices and general IT infrastructure concepts including high availability and disaster recovery setups - Good written and spoken English; basic knowledge of Italian is an added advantage - Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with a proactive and results-oriented mindset Why Join Us BNP Paribas is the European Union's leading bank operating across 65 countries with nearly 185,000 employees worldwide, and its India Solutions centre in Chennai offers a dynamic, inclusive, and innovation-driven work environment.
