IT Engineer - Data Streaming and Change Management

Role Overview BNP Paribas India Solutions is seeking a skilled IT Engineer specialising in Data Streaming and Change Management to join its Application Production team in Chennai. This role is part of an ambitious BNL systems evolution programme focused on increasing application resilience by converging to Cloud DMZR. You will work closely with the Italy-based Application Production teams and leverage expertise from BNP Paribas Paris to ensure flawless and secure production environments. Key Responsibilities - Ensure smooth and efficient transition of IT projects during the operational phase, managing multiple initiatives simultaneously within defined deadlines - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Rome IT Application Production and other BNL BNP Paribas IT teams to identify and resolve issues during transitions - Manage and support data streaming infrastructure including Kafka and Qlik Replicate, covering installation, configuration, backup, performance tuning, and incident management - Administer RedHat Linux and Windows Server operating systems in production environments - Perform database administration tasks on Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB - Execute system scripting using Shell and Python, and manage IBM Cloud Platform as a Service deployments - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, lessons-learned documentation, and KPI reporting - Support team knowledge expansion and help build a collaborative BNL BNP Paribas team culture Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field - Hands-on knowledge of Apache Kafka including stream usage, topic management, and incident handling - Working knowledge of Qlik Replicate for change data capture with configuration and performance tuning experience - Familiarity with RedHat Linux 6.x, 7.x, 8.x and Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019 - Database experience across Oracle 12 and 19, SQL Server, DB2, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB - Understanding of ITIL frameworks, IT infrastructure, high availability setups, and disaster recovery planning - Experience with ServiceNow ticketing system and Websphere Application Server - Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with a proactive and results-driven attitude - Basic knowledge of Italian language is an added advantage Why Join Us BNP Paribas is the European Union's leading bank operating across 65 countries with nearly 185,000 employees worldwide, and BNP Paribas India Solutions offers a dynamic 24x7 global delivery environment powered by over 10,000 professionals.
