IT Engineer - Data Streaming and Change Management

Role Overview BNP Paribas India Solutions is looking for a skilled IT Engineer specialising in Data Streaming and Change Management to join its Application Production team in Chennai. In this role, you will work closely with Italian BNL Application Production teams as part of an ambitious systems evolution programme aimed at increasing application resilience through cloud DMZR convergence. You will be instrumental in managing and migrating data streaming infrastructure including QLIK Replicate and Apache Kafka. Key Responsibilities - Ensure smooth and efficient transition of IT projects during operational phases by collaborating with cross-functional teams - Manage and maintain the existing data streaming infrastructure including QLIK Replicate and Kafka, covering installation, configuration, backup, performance tuning, and incident management - Drive the migration of Kafka to Event Stream DMZR as part of the BNL systems evolution roadmap - Coordinate closely with Rome IT Application Production and other BNP Paribas IT teams across geographies - Monitor and maintain Linux and Windows server environments along with database systems including Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Postgres, and MongoDB - Contribute to activity reporting, KPI tracking, continuous improvement initiatives, and knowledge transfer to Paris teams - Support Websphere Application Server environments and execute scripting tasks using Shell or Python Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline - Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka including stream usage, topic management, recovery, and performance tuning - Strong working knowledge of Qlik Replicate for change data capture including configuration and incident handling - Proficiency with RedHat Linux 6.x, 7.x, and 8.x and Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2019 - Solid database administration experience across Oracle 12 and 19, SQL Server, DB2, Postgres, and MongoDB - Familiarity with IBM Cloud platform-as-a-service and cloud-native application concepts - Knowledge of ITIL practices, ServiceNow ticketing, and IT production resilience setups such as high availability and disaster recovery - Basic knowledge of Italian language is an added advantage Why Join Us BNP Paribas India Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of one of Europe's largest banks, offers you the opportunity to work on high-impact global banking infrastructure projects from its 24x7 Chennai delivery centre.
