General Accounting Analyst

Role Overview ABB is seeking a skilled General Accounting Analyst to join its Finance Business Function at its Bengaluru office. In this onsite role, you will be responsible for managing period-close accounting activities, balance sheet reconciliations, and manual journal entries as part of a globally integrated Record-to-Report process. You will collaborate closely with the R2R core team to drive process improvements, resolve accounting deficiencies, and ensure compliance with internal controls. Key Responsibilities - Handle period-close accounting activities including balance sheet management and manual journal entries - Perform reconciliation of accounts and investigate discrepancies in detail - Conduct accounting-related analysis and generate reports to address finance queries - Execute month-end book closing and timely reporting activities - Review and approve journals as part of control-related responsibilities - Support the team leader during internal and external audits - Drive root cause analysis and remediation efforts for identified issues or process deficiencies - Collaborate with global operational teams to implement policy changes and process improvements Required Qualifications - Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or an equivalent field - Minimum 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in General Accounting operations - Strong expertise in end-to-end Record-to-Report processes including Intra-Group accounting - Working knowledge of SAP is essential - Proven ability to work effectively within a team and mentor or coach junior members - Demonstrated capability to handle complex accounting queries and cross-functional collaboration Why Join Us ABB is a global pioneer in digital industries and power grids committed to sustainable transformation and inclusive growth. - Graduate or Postgraduate in Finance, Business, or Economics - 5 to 8 years of experience in General Accounting - Expertise in end-to-end R2R process including Intra-Group areas - Working knowledge of SAP - Experience in month-end close and financial reporting - Ability to train, coach, and guide team members - Strong analytical and reconciliation skills - Experience supporting audit processes
