Fabric Sourcing Manager - Woven

Role Overview Evolv Clothing Company, a Chennai-based apparel manufacturing leader with over five decades of expertise in precision garment production for top European and American brands, is looking for a skilled Fabric Sourcing Manager specialising in woven fabrics. This full-time role is central to managing the complete woven fabric sourcing lifecycle, from initial development and approvals through to bulk fabric procurement. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge of woven fabrics, vendor management experience, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly across design, merchandising, production, and quality teams. Key Responsibilities - Lead the sourcing and development of woven fabrics including cotton, linen, viscose, blends, sustainable materials, and specialty finishes - Coordinate lab dips, handlooms, strike-offs, and fabric approvals in line with buyer and product requirements - Build, manage, and evaluate relationships with domestic and international fabric mills and suppliers - Negotiate pricing, MOQs, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve optimal sourcing outcomes - Monitor critical quality parameters such as GSM, shrinkage, colorfastness, pilling, and tensile strength - Drive cost optimisation strategies while maintaining product quality and performance standards - Ensure timely availability of approved fabrics for sampling, pilot runs, and bulk production - Support sustainability certifications including GOTS, OCS, GRS, OEKO-TEX, BCI, and other sourcing frameworks - Maintain fabric libraries, shade cards, swatches, development records, and audit documentation - Collaborate with merchandising and costing teams with accurate fabric costing inputs Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Textile Technology, Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, or a related discipline - 6 to 10 or more years of experience in woven fabric sourcing, development, and vendor management - Strong technical expertise in woven fabric constructions, yarns, dyeing, processing, and finishing techniques - Proven track record working with domestic or international mills in export-oriented apparel environments - Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP, and PLM systems - Solid understanding of fabric costing, supply chain coordination, and commercial feasibility - Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills Why Join Us Joining Evolv Clothing means becoming part of a globally recognised Indian apparel manufacturer serving leading international fashion brands, with real opportunities to contribute to an exciting phase of international growth.
