Data Scientist

Role Overview Ford Motor Company is looking for a skilled Data Scientist to join its Engineering and Information Technology team in Chennai. In this role, you will discover, curate, and analyse data from multiple sources to generate actionable business insights. You will work across the full project lifecycle, from problem definition and data gathering to model development, visualisation, and operational deployment. Key Responsibilities - Understand complex business problems and translate them into well-defined analytical frameworks and solutions - Work with large-scale datasets using tools such as Python, SQL, Google Cloud Services, and Hadoop - Develop and deliver business solutions involving data acquisition, data engineering, programming, modelling, and visualisation - Build and deploy analytic products leveraging Generative AI and Large Language Models - Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, algorithm design, and interface development to produce reliable analytics - Collaborate cross-functionally with diverse teams and build trust with stakeholders by delivering results on time - Ensure quality and integrity of analytical solutions throughout the development lifecycle - Support change management initiatives and provide training and ongoing maintenance for implemented tools - Collect user feedback and continuously iterate on analytic products for improvement Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field - 4 or more years of experience using analytical tools in real-world or significant independent project settings - 3 or more years of hands-on experience with SQL for data acquisition and transformation - 3 or more years of experience with Python and visualisation or dashboard tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Qlik Sense - 3 or more years of experience in data mining, statistical modelling, or similar analytical work - Familiarity with BigQuery and visualisation platforms like PowerBI or Looker - Practical experience with predictive analytics techniques including regression, classification, clustering, and tree-based algorithms - Conceptual knowledge in NLP, forecasting algorithms, or deep learning is an advantage - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical solutions to varied audiences - Experience in the automotive industry is a significant advantage Why Join Us Ford Motor Company offers a dynamic and collaborative environment where data-driven innovation is at the core of business transformation.
