Data Engineer - Stibo STEP PIM Platform

Role Overview Ford Motor Company is hiring an experienced Data Engineer with deep expertise in the Stibo STEP platform and Product Information Management systems to join its Chennai technology team. This is a mid-senior level, full-time opportunity suited for professionals with strong hands-on experience in PIM, MDM, and eCommerce data ecosystems. You will work closely with business stakeholders across North America and internal IT teams to deliver scalable, enterprise-grade data management solutions. Key Responsibilities - Implement and optimise Stibo STEP solutions for Non-Vehicle eCommerce PIM projects, improving product data accuracy and management efficiency - Collaborate with business customers in North America to define project scope and technical requirements, and deliver proof-of-concept and pilot projects with documented outcomes - Work with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to create detailed Agile-based implementation plans and maintain comprehensive solution documentation - Lead architecture review presentations and ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards and best practices - Design, configure, and manage data models, hierarchy relationships, data governance frameworks, data migration, and cross-business-unit integrations in STEP Workbench - Build and enhance Business Rules, Auto Classifications, Product and Classification Hierarchies, and Workflows within STEP - Develop and maintain microservices and integration layers using Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.x, and manage APIs via Apigee - Leverage cloud-native services including Cloud Run, Google Cloud Storage, Cloud Scheduler, and Pub/Sub for event-driven architecture solutions - Troubleshoot application performance issues and provide ongoing technical support to cross-functional teams - Stay current with Stibo STEP version upgrades and emerging PIM functionalities Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline - 7 to 12 years of overall experience with strong domain expertise in PIM, MDM, and DAM systems - Hands-on experience with Stibo MDM platform and SaaS-based STIBO STEP versions 10.x, 11.x, 2024.x and above - Proficiency in STEP Workbench and Web UI configuration including Attributes, Data Containers, LOVs, References, Entities, and Gateway Integrations - Experience with PostgreSQL, Cloud SQL, and BigQuery for data warehousing and analytics - Working knowledge of Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.x for building microservices - Experience with Apigee for API management and REST API integration within Stibo STEP - Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services including Cloud Run, GCS, Cloud Scheduler, and Pub/Sub - Strong understanding of full SDLC and Agile project management methodologies - Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work independently or within a team - Stibo STEP Certification is an added advantage - Experience in eCommerce Automotive domain is an added advantage Why Join Us Ford Motor Company offers a dynamic, globally connected work environment where technology professionals drive meaningful impact at scale. - 7 to 12 years of experience in PIM, MDM, or DAM systems - Mandatory hands-on experience with Stibo MDM and STEP Workbench - Experience with STIBO STEP SaaS versions 10.x, 11.x, and 2024.x or higher - Proficiency in Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.x - Experience with Apigee for API management and REST API usage - Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Cloud SQL, and BigQuery - Familiarity with Google Cloud services including Cloud Run, GCS, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Scheduler - Experience designing data models, hierarchies, workflows, and business rules in STEP - Full SDLC and Agile development lifecycle knowledge - Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field - Stibo STEP Certification preferred - eCommerce Automotive domain experience is a plus
