Data Engineer Consultant - Tax Technology

Role Overview Deloitte Tax Services India is hiring a Data Engineer at the Consultant level to support US tax compliance operations through data engineering, analytics, and automation. Key Responsibilities - Collect, clean, and preprocess structured and unstructured data from multiple sources for downstream analysis - Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and meaningful insights using statistical methods - Assist in building, testing, and validating predictive models and machine learning algorithms under senior guidance - Create data visualizations including charts, graphs, and dashboards to present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders - Support the design and upkeep of data pipelines and analytical workflows for ongoing tax and compliance projects - Document data sources, analytical methodologies, and processing logic to ensure transparency and reproducibility - Collaborate with business analysts, IT teams, and data engineers to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights - Leverage automation, cognitive computing, and AI-based tools to manage data, predict scenarios, and prescribe actions - Maintain data privacy and security standards across all analytical activities Required Qualifications - Full-time B.Tech or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Artificial Intelligence with a minimum of 60 percent or equivalent CGPA - 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience with DBMS concepts, SQL, and PL/SQL along with working knowledge of Snowflake and/or Databricks - Strong programming skills in Python and solid understanding of database concepts including SQL Server, Oracle, and MongoDB - Awareness of big data technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Apache Spark - Familiarity with standard analytical tech stacks including Jupyter Notebooks, Azure, AWS, PyTorch, and R - Working knowledge of statistics, analytical methods, and large language models is a plus - Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical findings clearly to non-technical audiences Why Join Us Deloitte offers a world-class professional development environment with access to the DU Leadership Center in India, diverse learning opportunities, and a comprehensive rewards program designed to help you thrive mentally, physically, and financially. - B.Tech or equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, or AI with minimum 60 percent CGPA - 3 to 6 years of experience in SQL, PL/SQL, and DBMS concepts - Hands-on experience with Snowflake and/or Databricks - Strong Python programming skills - Knowledge of big data tools including Spark, Databricks, and Snowflake - Familiarity with Azure, AWS, Jupyter Notebooks, PyTorch, or R - Understanding of machine learning and predictive modelling - Experience with data pipeline development and workflow automation - Strong communication and data presentation skills - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
