AI Engineer Consultant - Tax Technology

Role Overview Deloitte Tax Services India is looking for a skilled AI Engineer at the Consultant level to join its USI Tax Technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the crossroads of advanced artificial intelligence and enterprise-scale tax services, building and deploying AI solutions that directly support Deloitte Tax professionals and their global clients. You will take full ownership of AI initiatives from ideation to production, making a measurable difference in how tax compliance and advisory services are delivered worldwide. Key Responsibilities - Design and develop production-ready LLM-powered applications and Generative AI solutions to address complex tax and business challenges - Build and integrate AI capabilities including Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines, agentic workflows, and prompt engineering frameworks into enterprise systems - Architect and implement scalable AI integrations across cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and GCP with a focus on reliability, performance, and security - Develop, train, evaluate, and fine-tune machine learning models using NLP, supervised learning, and unsupervised learning techniques - Own MLOps practices covering model versioning, CI/CD pipelines, performance monitoring, bias detection, data drift management, and model retraining - Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, business analysts, and tax professionals to translate requirements into scalable AI solutions - Lead technical design discussions, participate in code reviews, and champion engineering best practices across the team - Produce thorough documentation for AI architectures, data sources, model design, API specifications, and deployment workflows - Ensure adherence to responsible AI principles including data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance throughout the development lifecycle Required Qualifications - Full-time B.Tech or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Artificial Intelligence with a minimum of 60 percent or equivalent CGPA - 2 to 4 years of hands-on professional experience in AI and ML engineering with a strong focus on LLM applications - Proven experience building LLM-based applications using frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex including prompt engineering and RAG architectures - Proficiency in Python with strong software engineering practices including modular design, testing, and Git-based version control - Hands-on experience with cloud platforms including managed AI and ML services such as Azure OpenAI Service, AWS Bedrock, or Vertex AI - Solid understanding of NLP, supervised and unsupervised learning, and model evaluation methodologies - Strong command of relational databases such as SQL Server and PostgreSQL as well as NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Cosmos DB - Experience with MLOps tools including MLflow, Weights and Biases, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines - Familiarity with REST API design for integrating AI models into enterprise applications - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Why Join Us Deloitte offers a highly rewarding work environment with an inclusive culture, world-class professional development programs, and a comprehensive benefits package designed to help you thrive mentally, physically, and financially.
