Role Overview ResourceTree Global Services Pvt Ltd is seeking an experienced Copy Editing Supervisor to lead and oversee the copyediting function within its publishing division. This is a mid-senior level, full-time opportunity based in Chennai for immediate joiners with a strong background in book or journal publishing. The ideal candidate will bring deep editorial expertise, team leadership experience, and a commitment to delivering publication-ready manuscripts that meet the highest standards of language and consistency. Key Responsibilities - Lead, mentor, and manage a team of in-house and freelance copyeditors, allocating manuscripts based on complexity, subject matter, and deadlines - Review edited manuscripts for grammar, syntax, punctuation, consistency, and strict adherence to house style and established guides such as the Chicago Manual of Style - Handle complex or high-profile titles personally and track manuscripts through the full editorial lifecycle - Coordinate with typesetting and design teams to resolve editorial queries and ensure smooth production handoffs - Communicate editorial changes and queries clearly to authors and manage revision cycles in collaboration with project managers - Maintain and update the publisher's house style guide and develop SOPs for copyediting, proofreading, and quality assurance - Implement editorial tools and best practices to improve workflow efficiency and monitor quality metrics for continuous improvement Required Qualifications - Master's degree in English, Publishing, Journalism, or a related field - 5 to 10 years of experience in book or journal publishing with strong copyediting expertise - 2 to 4 years of experience managing editorial teams or freelancers - Deep familiarity with major style guides including the Chicago Manual of Style - Proven experience working on long-form content such as books, academic titles, or journals - Experience with manuscript tracking systems and publishing tools such as InDesign, XML workflows, or CMS platforms is preferred - Excellent attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple titles across concurrent production stages Why Join Us ResourceTree Global Services offers a structured and collaborative publishing environment where editorial professionals can take ownership of quality standards and make a tangible impact.
