Coding Specialist - Emergency Medicine with Surgery

Role Overview Ventra Health is looking for a skilled Coding Specialist with expertise in Emergency Medicine and Surgery to join their Chennai team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately reviewing clinical documentation, assigning appropriate medical codes, and ensuring full compliance with current coding standards and regulations. You will play a key part in maintaining coding quality across provider encounters and supporting audit and training functions. Key Responsibilities - Review medical record documentation and assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes along with appropriate modifiers in line with CMS, CPT, and Ventra Health guidelines - Conduct MIPS reviews and perform Provider Quality Assurance evaluations as required - Identify and document coding errors, and provide timely, constructive feedback to coders regarding discrepancies and deficiencies - Support coding management by assisting with client and provider audits and reviewing work completed by newly onboarded coders during training - Communicate documentation deficiencies to the coding manager and respond to queries raised by designated coding staff - Ensure strict confidentiality of all personal, financial, and medical information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and Ventra Health internal policies Required Qualifications - High School diploma or equivalent educational qualification - RHIT and/or CPC certification is mandatory - Minimum one year of medical billing experience is preferred - Working knowledge of 2023 MDM Guidelines is required - Familiarity with HCPCS, claims processing, and claims adjudication is an advantage Why Join Us Ventra Health is a trusted name in US healthcare revenue cycle management, offering a collaborative work environment where your coding expertise will directly contribute to quality patient care and operational excellence.
