Accounts Receivable Specialist

Role Overview Ventra Health is a trusted business solutions provider specialising in Revenue Cycle Management for facility-based physicians across specialties such as anesthesia, emergency medicine, radiology, pathology, and hospital medicine. As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will play a key role in analysing collections, resolving non-payable claims, and managing complex billing inquiries to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement for clients. Key Responsibilities - Follow up on claim rejections and denials to secure appropriate reimbursement for clients - Process assigned AR work lists provided by the manager within defined timelines - Write and submit appeals using established guidelines with the goal of one-contact resolution - Identify and resolve denied, non-paid, and non-adjudicated claims arising from coverage issues, medical record requests, or authorisation gaps - Review correspondence to determine root causes of billing issues and take appropriate corrective action - Communicate with insurance companies regarding the status of outstanding claims and respond to inquiries - Conduct inbound and outbound calls as required for account follow-up - Accurately notate patient accounts and research account histories - Recommend accounts for write-off via Adjustment Request and report filing rule or address changes to the manager - Meet production and quality standards set by Ventra Health and support special projects as assigned Required Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED is required - Minimum one year of experience in data entry and one year in medical billing or claims resolution preferred - AAHAM and/or HFMA certification is an added advantage - Intermediate knowledge of medical billing rules including coordination of benefits, modifiers, Medicare, Medicaid, and EOBs - Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel including pivot tables - Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing time effectively - Basic computer skills including use of telephone, internet, copier, fax, and scanner - Experience with offshore engagement and collaboration is desirable Why Join Us Ventra Health offers a performance-based incentive plan and a referral bonus programme, recognising and rewarding the contributions of its team members. - Minimum 1 year experience in medical billing and claims resolution - Intermediate knowledge of medical billing rules, EOBs, Medicare and Medicaid - Proficiency in MS Excel including pivot tables, Word, and Outlook - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to learn and maintain proficiency in billing software within 4 weeks - Basic data entry and 10-key skills - Strong time management and organisational abilities - AAHAM or HFMA certification preferred - High School Diploma or GED
